Last January, an established cultivator was looking to expand their indoor facility in Chino Valley, Arizona. They wanted to explore the option of flowering LEDs and were interested in Gavitas. Believing price may be a barrier to the purchase, their contact at a local retail store directed them to Seinergy.
Luckily, their utility, Arizona Public Service Co (APS), had just enhanced 2022 commercial rebate offerings. On a macro level, commercial rebates for LED grow lights are going down. However, this is not always the case for each individual utility.
The cultivators also started the process early. They were comfortable waiting to secure approval from APS before purchasing fixtures. They signed up with Seinergy and provided all materials promptly. In another unique move, APS gave permission for the cultivators to purchase the equipment, prior to finalizing the exact rebate offering.
Seinergy provided the cultivators with a range of possibilities for rebates. Something would be offered, it was just unsure exactly how much. This was enough for the cultivators to move forward with their purchase and install of 112 new Gavita LEDs. By April, the new facility was up and running. Then APS validated the project and issued final approval.
APS ended up paying out rebates on the higher end of our estimate. By June, the cultivator had an expanded facility, reduced electric bills, and $17,239 in rebates deposited into their bank account.
