Sometimes good news does arrive in your mailbox. Today we received five electric utility incentive checks totaling $917,062. The biggest one was $853k – Seinergy’s second rebate this year to surpass $800k! These checks put cash directly into cannabis growers’ pockets and represent an immense amount of reduced electric demand on the grid.
The checks are also a demonstration of this utility’s investment in energy efficiency through state-of-the-art Gavita LEDs and Quest Dehumidifiers. Although it may seem the utility is being reckless with spending, the value of this investment to other ratepayers within the utility is around $3 million. Financially, this is a clear win-win for both the grower and for all ratepayers.
